WELLINGBOROUGH BRANCH

Synopsis of  the Wellingborough Branch

The Wellingborough Branch is part of the Peterborough Diocesan Guild

and is situated in the County of  Northamptonshire

The Branch consists of Twenty one ringable Towers which includes the following rings

Castle Ashby

Easton Maudit

Gt.Doddington

Whiston

Bozeat

Ecton

Grendon

Mears Ashby

Orlingbury

Stanwick

Wilby

Wollaston

Yardley Hastings

Moulton

The average weight of the Tenors is 14 cwt with the heaviest  being Wellingborough at 28 cwt and the lightest being Gt.Doddington at 5cwt  

 

There is one 3 Bell Tower at Sywell, Tenor 6cwt where the ropes are in a straight line,see video also there are 2 unringable Towers being Gt.Harrowden (3) Tenor 9cwt & Chelveston (5) Tenor 8cwt

 

The Branch has 116 Adult members and 13 Junior members

 

Annually the Branch holds a Quarter peal day and a Striking contest as well as having regular monthly Surprise practices and general ringing meetings,and  some outings throughout the year and also a Branch Quiz
